Prospect Hospice shops to reopen on Wednesday
Prospect Hospice has good news for their many supporters as lockdown restrictions lift on Wednesday 2 December 2020. They are delighted to be re-opening all of their 18 shops across Swindon and north east Wiltshire.
The shops will still include all the safety measures you would expect during this pandemic, including hand-sanitising facilities, aisle markings to ensure social distancing and limited numbers of people admitted at any one time.
Supporters of the local charity will also once again be able to donate goods directly to their shops as of Wednesday. Those wishing to donate will need to call ahead to book an appointment and donations at this time will be limited to up to three bags per person to ensure shops have enough space to store items for their quarantine period before sorting them and getting them out on the shelves.
You can find out more about the items the hospice is looking for at the moment and to book your appointment directly with each shop at www.prospect-hospice.net/retail/
The hospice can also claim Gift Aid on any items donated to their shops if you complete a gift aid form, which gives them an additional 25% when the item sells at no cost to you and these are available in shops when you donate.
Victoria Canavan, head of retail at Prospect Hospice, said: “We’ve seen a huge amount of support from local people shopping with us to enable us to provide end of life care in the community. Last year our shops raised almost £2million to help fund our care, and more than ever, at this time, we need your support and every item purchased allows us to provide care for loved ones in our local community.”
“I do ask that you please do not leave donations outside a closed shop or our distribution centre. This could become a health and safety issue and the council will view this as fly-tipping. We ask that you call ahead to book an appointment once the shops and distribution centre start to open again and we’ll be delighted to take your donations of pre-loved goods then.”
