We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and motivated individual to join our retail team and manage our shop in Royal Wootton Bassett. This is a great opportunity to use your skills and make a real difference to your local community.

At Prospect Hospice, we provide vital end of life care to patients living with a life limiting illness. We also support their families and loved ones through their difficult journeys. Our shops are at the heart of the charity and our community, raising vital funds and increasing public awareness of the incredible work we do.

Hours:  30 hours per week (4 days in 7 – to include some Sundays and Bank Holidays)

What is the role?

As shop manager you will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of our shop in Royal Wootton Bassett. This will include managing the assistant shop manager and a volunteer team to achieve agreed sales targets, actively promoting gift aid and maximising sales and profits. You will be an ambassador for Prospect Hospice, positively promoting the aims and values of the hospice to provide an outstanding customer experience for the local community.

You will also work collaboratively and engage with the community to build a team of volunteers, attract desirable donations and make the shop a destination.

We are looking for someone who is customer and commercially focused, creative, sales driven and can work with a close knit friendly team. The ideal candidate should have a recent background as a shop manager in either charity or mainstream retail with experience of achieving targets, along with the ability to effectively manage a team of staff and volunteers, whilst maintaining high standards of excellent customer service and creative visual merchandising skills.

In return, you will be joining a great team working in a supportive environment for one of Swindon’s best loved charities. Have a look at the job description and person specification and apply today to be part of something amazing!
