Prospect Hospice’s Run the Rainbow Event Brings Colour and Joy to Lydiard Park

August 2024

Fundraising

In a dazzling display of colour and community spirit, over 400 enthusiastic participants gathered at Lydiard Park this Saturday for Prospect Hospice’s annual “Run the Rainbow” event. The vibrant run, which saw runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages and abilities, successfully raised an impressive £31,000 so far in support of the charity’s vital services.

Lydiard Park was transformed into a spectrum of colour as participants navigated through a 5K course filled with lively colour stations, each adding a splash of brightness to their journey. The atmosphere was electric, with families, friends, and solo runners coming together to celebrate and support a great cause.

The day kicked off with an exhilarating warm-up session led by PureGym trainers. The enthusiastic trainers ensured everyone was pumped up and ready to tackle the colourful course.

One of the participants, Sam Taylor, shared her excitement: “This was my first time participating in Run the Rainbow, and it was such an exhilarating experience! The energy, the colours, and knowing we’re supporting Prospect Hospice made it unforgettable.”

Prospect Hospice’s CEO, Jeremy Lune, expressed his gratitude and pride: “We are overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and the generosity of our community. Raising over £31,000 is a tremendous achievement, and every penny will go towards providing compassionate end-of-life care and support to our patients and their families. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered to make this event a rainbow of success.”

Run the Rainbow is one of the many events organised by Prospect Hospice to engage the community and raise essential funds. The hospice provides a range of care and support services for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care when they need it most whether that be in the hospice in Wroughton or at home.
