Prospect Hospice’s much-loved Starlight Walk is back for another year, inviting the community to step out under the stars on Saturday 28 June. Taking place in celebration of the hospice’s 45th anniversary, this special event will bring together walkers of all ages to honour loved ones, reflect, and raise vital funds for local hospice care.
Starting and finishing at The Deanery Academy, participants can choose between 10k or 15k routes, taking them through the streets of Swindon. A dedicated remembrance area in the Town Gardens will provide a quiet space for reflection, allowing walkers to pay tribute to those who hold a special place in their hearts.
Whether personally touched by the hospice or simply looking for a meaningful way to support their community, everyone is welcome to take part. The event not only offers a chance to remember loved ones but also ensures Prospect Hospice can continue providing expert care to those in need.
Jeremy Lune, CEO of Prospect Hospice, shared his excitement for this year’s Starlight Walk: “This year’s walk is particularly special as we mark 45 years of Prospect Hospice. The Starlight Walk is a cherished event that brings people together in remembrance and celebration, all while raising essential funds to support our services. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who takes part and helps us continue our mission.”
Among those walking is Kelly Pulham, who is taking part in memory of her dear friend, Sandra: “My friend received such amazing care from all the staff at Prospect Hospice. Although she didn’t receive care for very long, the hospice was there to support all her family and friends. I am doing the Starlight Walk in memory of my beautiful friend Sandra. I hope to raise as much money as I can to help other people who need this help and support.”
Prospect Hospice is offering an early bird entry, giving participants a chance to sign up for £15 per person before Monday 31 March. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this unforgettable evening of remembrance, community, and support.
