Remember your loved ones in this tranquil space
At Prospect Hospice, we understand the importance of celebrating life, remembering those who were special to us and keeping memories alive. The remembrance garden at the hospice in Wroughton provides a peaceful area for you to create a lasting memory of your loved ones.
Within the remembrance garden you’ll find the summerhouse, which provides a quiet place to reflect and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding gardens all year round, as well as our memory tree, remembering those loved ones who are no longer with us.
You can sponsor your own steel or copper leaf, engraved with the name of your cherished loved one, which will hang beautifully on our memory tree. Alternatively, there’s the option to sponsor a paver of your choice engraved with a personal message of care, support and love, which will be set into the bluebell path.
To ensure that the remembrance garden is a safe environment for both visitors and wildlife, guidelines are in place and you can read these below.
From time to time, we have volunteers working in the garden to help maintain it. If you would prefer to be alone in the garden, for example if you are marking an anniversary, please call the hospice in advance, so we can check when volunteer groups are due in.
To ensure that the Remembrance Garden is a safe environment for both visitors and wildlife, the following guidelines have been put in place.
• Fresh cut flowers are welcome, but please remove any plastic wrappings, sticky tape, elastic bands etc. before laying them on the path. • Please do not leave any glass, candles, trinkets or items which are breakable, or may present a trip hazard to visitors. • Due to the program of planting we have in place, please do not plant anything of your own within the area. • Please do not leave any ashes within the area.
The remembrance garden will be cleared on a regular basis and items placed within the area will be left for a minimum of one week and a maximum of two weeks before being removed. If you have any specific requests for an extension due to extenuating circumstances please contact us.
Unfortunately we are unable to return any items which are left within the area without prior agreement.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Our memory tree has been placed in the heart of our remembrance garden, alongside the bluebell path.
Each copper and steel leaf on the memory tree is engraved with the name of a cherished loved one, a poignant, lasting tribute to them that can also be shared with family, friends and visitors.
To order your leaf please complete the order form below.
