Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
Families enjoyed our fun filled Easter egg trail at Stanton Park, thanks to the generosity of local people and organisations who donated over 1,000 eggs in response to a fundraising initiative to collect as many eggs as possible.
We were able to use some donations to raffle Easter egg hampers in our shops raising a further £1,000 towards the vital care and support we provide to families, patients and loved ones.
A special mention and thanks goes to Reed Recruitment who coordinated an eggs-traordinary donation of 894 eggs!
Jade and Sian from Reed Recruitment said: “We saw the call-out from Prospect for Easter eggs and thought that there would be something we could do to help.”
When asked why they chose to support the hospice with this they said: “Prospect are a local charity, it is likely that we all have friends or family that have stayed there or have been supported by them in some way.”
They sent an email to a portion of their client database covering Swindon and surrounding areas, targeting each SN postcode area, asking for their support with donations.
“We had a really good response and enjoyed having something other than sales to speak to our clients about!”
Consultants set up collection dates picking up generous donations, some even set up working parties to pass eggs through office windows to load up vehicles! They had a lot of fun putting them into blocks and even used sticky notes to keep track of counting all the donations.
Jade and Sian would like to thank all their clients who donated eggs or money in support of the hospice. They would also like to thank Land-Rover Jaguar as they support Reed with all of their charity work.
“Our clients are really keen to support more initiatives like this in the future,” commented Jade and Sian.
Amy Francombe, Community and Events Manager said: “I would like to thank everyone at Reed Recruitment and their clients for their amazing efforts and supporting us with this fantastic donation. Reed Recruitment also support us in other ways including with our Christmas gift wrapping and being a Box holder.”
“Our thanks also goes to all local people and businesses that supported and donated – from mini eggs to great big ones, we’re grateful for your support!”
