Prospect Hospice Featured on BBC Breakfast to Highlight Funding Crisis

Prospect Hospice, were featured on BBC Breakfast on Friday 5 September, to discuss the ongoing funding crisis and update listeners on the progress of its Save Our Hospice campaign.

Jeremy Lune, CEO at Prospect Hospice, joined Ben Prater on the Breakfast Show to share the challenges faced by hospices across the UK due to rising costs and reduced government funding. The interview highlighted the vital role that hospices play in providing compassionate care to individuals, their families facing life-limiting illnesses. and how Prospect Hospice plays a huge part in taking pressure off the NHS.

Jeremy said:

We need to think  about how we compliment not duplicate the amazing work of the NHS. Care in the community is 90% of what we do, looking after people in their homes…and that’s the only way forward for the NHS. We can’t keep doing what we are doing. Something needs to change.

Jeremy also highlighted that Prospect Hospice is grateful for the ongoing support of its community and encourages individuals to learn more about the campaign and how they can make a difference.
