Most of the treatment for people with lymphoedema is self care, and although there is no cure, with the right treatment – the symptoms can be improved and the benefits long-lasting.
Treatment involves a combination of skincare, exercises and lifestyle advice. For more complex lymphoedema other more specialist techniques might be used.
Referrals to this service are usually made by your hospital consultant or GP. You can also self-refer or ask your community nurse to refer you.
