Old Town Festival

Back to events

Start: Saturday 1 June @ 11:00 am

End: Sunday 9 June @ 7:00 pm

Location: Old Town, Swindon

After a four year absence the Old Town Festival is back

The Old Town Festival was a staple event in the Old Town calendar each year and has been running for over 25 years. The festival which was originally run by the Old Town Business Association soon got too big, and formed a separate committee latterly run by Commonwheel PTA. After Covid, the Association vowed to bring it back to life, and so 2024 will see the revival of the festival for the first time in four years.

A new format, locations and activities will be on offer, whilst honouring the spirit and essence of what the festival was all about – bringing Old Town together.

The first BIG Weekend 1 to 2 June will see two big headline days, the first a Family Fun Day held this time at Town Gardens instead of The Lawns, and on the Sunday a Street Party on Wood Street.

The Saturday Family Fun day will feature two stages, the bandstand featuring local musicians and performers, and the Town Gardens Bowl featuring local dance groups. Local food, drink and community stalls will line the avenue between the bandstand and the bowl with lots of family friendly activities.

The Sunday will see a format on Wood Street that is popular for the September Street Food Festival, with local food and drinks stalls and a musical stage but this time themed in the original style of the festival “Victoriana”.

From Monday 3 to Sunday 9 June, a whole week of fringe events will give our community lots to see and do. See the growing list of Fringe events here.

To book a stall for 1 June Family Fun Day at the Town Gardens or 2 June Old Town Victorian Festival on Wood Street please visit the Book a stall page or email the organisers.

We are proud to be partnering with the amazing Prospect Hospice for this year’s Old Town Festival. All the door donations, special food and drink items and Prospect activity stall money will go to the charity.
