Over 50% of UK adults do not have an up to date will in place and we know how difficult it can be for those you leave behind when arrangements haven’t been made. That’s why we’re making it our mission to ensure everyone in our local area has a will and, to help, we’re offering a free will service which you can complete in the comfort of your own home – and you can get started in as little as 15 minutes.
There are plenty of options to do this too with face to face appointments available or a telephone call can be arranged if you’d prefer to speak to someone rather than completing your will online. Just scroll below and pick the option that suits you to get started. These links will take you through to our partners at Octopus Legacy to help you write your will or update your current one. And the best bit? It’s completely free of charge.
After securing your family’s future, you may also think about causes you would like to support. One in seven of our patients is cared for thanks to a gift in a will. So, if you’re considering leaving a gift to the hospice, no matter what size, we’d ensure it’s put to good use caring for local people at the end of their lives.
We understand that leaving a gift to Prospect Hospice is an important decision and that thinking about life after you’ve gone can be a little daunting.

This is only possible now and into the future because of the support of our local community, including supporters like you who may consider leaving us a gift in your will.

When you leave a gift in your will to Prospect Hospice, you help ease the pain and burden for local people at the end of their lives.
The day before my mother passed away we had such beautiful weather that we moved her bed out onto the patio. We sat her up in her bed so she was lying with nature all around her and could listen to the birds singing. The whole experience was extraordinary and we spent all afternoon out there. To be able to give her the opportunity to breathe fresh air and have the sense of nature around her was a real privilege and in stark contrast to our experience of the hospital. I know she couldn’t have wished for a better ending.
Prospect Hospice isn’t just there for patients, it’s there for their families too. I’ve never seen people try so hard and have so much compassion and gentleness. It felt like being normal again. I had been petrified for dad to go in, but in fact it was all so peaceful and beautiful.
When my son was born, dad was never confident holding him. He thought he might drop him or make a sudden movement because of the pain in his joints. The new treatment plan the hospice had sorted out for him meant that he finally had the confidence to pick up his grandson and give him a cuddle. For a man who was so dedicated to his family, it was just incredible to see. The hospice gave that to him and I’ll always be so grateful to them for that.
When you leave a gift in your will to Prospect Hospice, you leave so much more than a simple donation. What you leave is the certainty that our dedicated care continues through the work of a team of skilled and compassionate people who are committed to caring for local people and their families at the end of their lives.
In return for your generosity, this is our promise to you:
We will always respect your privacy. We understand and appreciate that your will is an important and private decision. Any conversations you have with us will not be disclosed without your consent.
Your family and friends come first. We understand that your family and friends will often take priority when it comes to leaving a gift in your will but even just 1% of your estate can make a huge difference to the patients and families we care for.
It’s your decision and you can change your mind. We will always respect that it can take time to carefully consider leaving a legacy and we will give you as much time as you need. We will also respect that you have the right to change your mind at any time.
Your gift will make a real difference. We will always spend your gift in the most responsible way to best support the lives of local people living with end of life needs, and the needs of those important to them.
