For more than 40 years, we’ve been a dedicated, non-hospital, end-of-life care service for patients and their loved ones - around the clock, every day of the year. Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
It’s a Prospect Knockout promises a fun day out with friends, family or colleagues while tackling wacky challenges.
The event, in aid of Prospect Hospice in Swindon, involves entertaining games including those with foam and water, running over large inflatable obstacles and more. Not only a challenge for those taking part, but great for spectators to come along and cheer on your team.
It is being held on Sunday 17 July 2022 at Swindon Cricket Club, County Road, Swindon, from 10am to 2.30pm and is for teams of ten adults aged 18 or over.
The friendly competition will involve teams competing in several games and working together to get as many points as possible.
There are prizes for teams who come first, second, third and last place, while the best dressed team and the best decorated gazebo will also be rewarded.
Sheryl Crouch, head of income at Prospect Hospice, said: “We’re really pleased to offer this fun and entertaining event in Swindon and hope people will join us by entering a team.
“Get together with your friends, your family, members of your sports club or colleagues and enjoy friendly competition while also raising vital funds for the hospice. For businesses it provides an opportunity for some fun team building while promoting your company.
“Everyone who takes part will have an unforgettable experience and will also be helping Prospect Hospice to care for people who need end of life care and supporting their loved ones.”
Westrop Medical Practice, a GP practice based in Swindon with four separate surgeries across the borough, has three teams entered in the event.
Dr Molly Moffat, wellbeing lead GP at Westrop Medical Practice, said: “We are really excited to be taking part in It’s a Prospect Knockout. We see this as a fantastic opportunity to laugh and have fun together, outside of work, after what has been a gruelling few years, whilst also raising money for Prospect Hospice.
“The hospice is a cause that means something to us all as many of our patients and their families have benefited from the care and support it offers. We see the huge difference this makes at such an important time in people’s lives.”
Daniel Harris, vice chair of Swindon Cricket Club, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming you all to the County Ground to enjoy a day of fun at this iconic and exciting event. It is a pleasure to host and support the fantastic Prospect Hospice and help it raise funds to carry on providing the services that support those in our community.”
Entry is £300 per team (or £30 per person) and each team is asked to raise an additional minimum of £500 (or £50 per person).
