Prospect Hospice has welcomed the government’s announcement of a significant £100 million investment in hospices across the country. This funding will be crucial in ensuring that hospices can continue to provide vital end-of-life care to patients and their families.
Jeremy Lune, CEO of Prospect Hospice, said:
“This is fantastic news for hospices across the UK and the patients they support. We’re currently talking to Hospice UK to understand what this means individually to us as a hospice. However, this announcement shows the government is finally listening to us!
We’d like to thank all our supporters who’ve written to their MPs on our behalf, your voices have made a real difference. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more detail.
It’s definitely beginning to feel a lot like Christmas”
Toby Porter, CEO of Hospice UK, said: “Today’s announcement will be hugely welcomed by hospices, and those who rely on their services. Hospices not only provide vital care for patients and families, but also relieve pressure on the NHS.
This funding will allow hospices to continue to reach hundreds of thousands of people every year with high-quality, compassionate care. We look forward to working with the government to make sure everyone approaching the end of life gets the care and support they need, when and where they need it”
