Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
The much-loved charity will be celebrating four and a half decades of providing outstanding, free-of-charge care to the heart of the local community. For 45 years, Prospect Hospice has been a beacon of support, helping individuals and families navigate their most challenging times.
Since its inception, Prospect Hospice has cared for over 40,000 patients, offering vital support and comfort while also extending compassionate care to their families. This milestone underscores the profound impact the hospice has had on the community, making it a legacy worth celebrating and protecting.
To ensure Prospect Hospice can continue its vital work for the next 45 years and support the future thousands of patients who will rely on its services, the charity is launching “Challenge 45” this May.
Challenge 45 calls on the community to embrace the spirit of celebration and take on a 45-themed challenge to raise critical funds. Whether it’s baking 45 cakes, running 45 miles, or reading 45 books! Participants are encouraged to get creative and contribute to the hospice’s future.
Jeremy Lune, Prospect Hospice CEO, said: “Launching our first month-long challenge is a momentous occasion. We are excited to see the community’s response. 2025 has been a year of significant milestones, with the visit from our President, The Queen, and our BBC Radio 5 Live broadcast, culminating in Challenge 45.
“This challenge offers a unique opportunity for everyone to contribute. I will be walking 45 miles in May, and I encourage all to participate. We are immensely grateful for the community’s enduring support, which is vital to our ability to provide end-of-life care for years to come.”
Prospect Hospice invites individuals, businesses, schools and community groups to participate in “Challenge 45” and help secure the hospice’s future.
Prospect Hospice encourages everyone to take part and share their Challenge 45 experiences on social media using #Challenge45.
