If you’re replacing your sofa or dining table or having a house clearance, did you know you can donate your furniture to Prospect Hospice?
The charity is in need of good quality furniture to sell in its shops. In particular, it is seeking donations of sofas, chairs, dining tables and chairs, bookshelves, wardrobes and side tables.
Victoria Canavan, head of retail at Prospect Hospice, said: “There is a demand for pre-loved furniture from our customers but we have a shortage of stock. Customers who buy furniture from us do so because they want to upgrade their furniture at an affordable price. We also have customers who are first time buyers or who are downsizing and are looking to buy furniture for their new home.
“If you have good quality items of furniture you no longer need, please consider donating to Prospect Hospice. By donating your sofa, chair or table you will be helping people who want to buy good quality items of furniture as well as benefiting local people who need our care.
“Our charity shops are proud to serve the community and they raise vital funds for the hospice. Because of you donating and buying items, the hospice is able to provide specialist care to people at the end of their lives and support their loved ones so they are not alone.”
The charity’s shops in West Swindon and Clive Parade sell large items of furniture, while other shops, including Old Town and Penhill, stock smaller items. The hospice will also deliver furniture bought by customers for a charge of £10.
If you would like to donate your furniture please email vanbookings@prospect-hospice.net with your name, contact number, full address and postcode. Sofas and upholstered furniture must have fire labels attached and photos of your items showing the fire labels attached would be welcome.
Alternatively call the hospice’s distribution centre on 01793 813362 and leave your name and telephone number.
